RunninRev Pulse
Weekly Newsletter: Keeping up with the heartbeat of the RunninRev Run Club. What is happening in life, ministry, running, and all over.
I am hoping for this “newsletter” to be that heartbeat of this network. Over the vast 6.5 months I have built out many things; including writing, podcasting, and my continued roles of preaching and spiritual reflection while receiving several emails or notifications a week can be overwhelming be reassured that this “primary newsletter” will be the central place that I will re-share what I have published this last week and even an opportunity to reshare older posts.
You can manage your subscription so that this is the only email/notification you receive and then be able to read other posts by clicking links. You can manage your subscriptions and which sections you are notified on by going to the Substack website.

I am always looking for fantastic stories to share through the podcast. If you have a great story of community running or know someone email me or share the podcast or this newsletter with friends.
If you enjoyed listening to Jules, be sure to check out other episodes. Another awesome one, that features another great Hampton Roads woman crushing some miles features Kim Freeman. Listen here:
On A Long Run
In this last week’s article, I reflected on a new goal that I have been contemplating and how it has been shifting my perspective on running and in some ways life. Read it here:
Deep in the Archives
This is one of the earliest blog posts I wrote, and has gone back and forth from Substack to Blog and back to Substack (think I’ll stay for a bit this time). This was my reflection on my 2022 Richmond Half Marathon after coming off a rough training cycle. I feel like I need to hear these words again as I rebuild my running form and hope for new possibilities on the run.

Sermon
Last Sunday, I preached on the sacred meal of Communion and what it means in the practice of our faith. Watch it here:
You can also find it on my YouTube Channel (hint, hint, trying to grow the subscribers there). Click Here
Devotion
Each week I offer a short devotional for people to enjoy and engage in a moment of spiritual discipline. Check out this last week’s about stillness and intentional breathing:
What you might expect this week:
This coming week I start some vacation from my church job (remember I’m a pastor). However, I am looking towards some posts coming out especially around the conversation of running and community. With the Olympics on the horizon I am going to try and do some preview posts for both the distance track events and the marathon.
The next three Sundays (July 14, 21, and 28) I am not preaching so you will not have a sermon posted on Monday, but I am going to try to have a devotional come out on Wednesdays while I am on vacation.
Make sure to stay tuned to the podcast feed for the next week for the next episode of Run Build Grow. However, if you are new to the pod, or haven’t listened yet, be sure to check out the archives here or on your favorite podcasting app.
