World’s Best
Have you ever come across a sign that proclaims something as "The World’s Best"?
Every time I see these sorts of signs, my mind immediately goes to a scene in the beloved Will Ferrell Christmas movie, Elf. When Ferrell’s character, Buddy, is exploring New York, he comes across a shop that proclaims "World’s Best Coffee." Overjoyed, he rushes inside to congratulate the staff. Later in the movie, he tries coffee in his dad’s office and hates it. Then, when he takes Jovie on their date, she tries the coffee at the diner and is highly unimpressed.
Now, y’all know my affinity for coffee, so I probably won’t be taking coffee advice from the movie Elf. However, it does make me wonder about the claims people make when they proclaim something as the "World’s Best."
